Vanessa

Through the years Vanessa has combined her profession as a Psychologist and Educator with her passion for Nature. As a Psychologist specialized in Social-Emotional Behaviour, she has always shown a particular interest in orcas and their social-emotional area.

For over 10 years she has used her photography to raise awareness in thousands of people, mainly kids ,by giving Marine Education and Conservation Talks in Mexico and Canada. 
Vanessa created her own Marine Education Program which she teaches in schools in Canada.

During the summers she works as a Marine Naturalist on the west coast of Canada, mainly with orcas. But also with humpback whales that, like her, live in Mexico and Canada.

She has collaborated in the protection of marine fauna with different national and international organizations.

She is co-founder and director of the marine education and conservation NGO named MAREA.

Contrasts

During the pandemic she wrote, directed and produced her first documentary on orcas, dolphins and belugas entitled “Contrasts”, with the support of renowned photographers and organizations from different parts of the world
This film has won several awards in many International Film Festivals and has been translated from Spanish to English, Russian and currently it is being translated to Japanese and Chinese.
